Some logistics points about the Crystal Mozart

Room  location

The duck view suites (W1 and W2) are the pair of windows just above the water line. The S1 Suites are the level above with two full length windows together. The Penthouse Suites are the ones with four full length window together. A Crystal suite has one set of four full length window together for the bedroom, one set of four full length window together for the living room and one set of two full length window together for the second bedroom.

A steal peek of the living room of the Crystal Suite

When considering a W1/W2 duck view room, I would think the rooms at the front and the end afford better chance of sunlight when docked during the day. The mid-ship rooms under the entrance may have light and views blocked when docked.

Rooms to avoid

Deck 1: Suite 123 to Room 157 are against the concrete dock when the Mozart is in Vienna. As such daylight is almost non-existance and there is a concrete wall or pilings by the window. Where small docks are used, like in Melk, only suite 119 to Room 129 loose their view. On this cruise, the Mozart was only docked starboard side in Passau. No experience of docking at Budapest and Bratislava since the Mozart stayed in Vienna due to the low river levels.

Deck 2: Avoid Penthouse Suite 205 since the opens directly opposite the Crystal Saloon. As such, it is very bright outside the room, and a bit noisy when the hair dryer is on since the saloon door is permanently open when the Saloon is operational.

The laundry room doors are on both corridors and remain open while the machines and dryer are in use; probably for the ventilation. As such, there is likely to be noise coming through for Penthouse Suite 209 and 206.

Suite 212 (S1 category) is directly under the Crystal Cove piano. In the event, the Entertainment Host stomps on the floor when crooning away on an upbeat number, there will be vibration on the ceiling. Only choose this room, if you are likely to stay on at the bar until midnight every night.

Docking

The above pictures are when the boat is docked at Melk, i.e. on the port side.
22-Dec Vienna - Port (daily periodic shuttles provided to Schwedenplatz)
23-Dec Melk - Port (no shuttle. a 15-20 walk into town)
24-Dec Passau - Starboard (shuttle into town. Docked outside town. Other river boats were docked in town)
25-Dec Vilshofen - Port (no shuttle. 3 mins walk into town)
26-Dec Linz - Port (no shuttle. 5 mins walk into town and the main town square and high street)
29-Krems - Port (no shuttle. 5-10 mins walk into town)

Cannot comment on Budapest, Esztergom and Bratislava as the Mozart remained in Vienna the whole time
A word of warning when the Mozart is docked in Vienna where it always stays a while. The pier is long. Only the first eight rooms at the front get light. The rest of the rooms are totally blocked by the concrete pier all the way to the back

Power Sockets
I can only cover the Penthouse Suite that I had.
2 USB and 2 european style sockets on each side of the bed .

1 european style socket by the dressing table outside the walk-in closet and bathroom.
1 european style socket in between the basins in the bathroom
1 european style socket in the hallway - really for the room attendant's vacuum cleaner. Not a good location for anything else.

No US power sockets at all. Adaptors will be required for anything other than USB and european style plugs.

Laundry Prices

Dry cleaning is sent out and driven to the next port of call. Suspect, this will be expensive.
